
WOKHA, NOVEMBER 8 (MExN): With an objective of truly winning the hearts and minds of people in its area or responsibility and extending facilities to the villagers of far flung areas, a community hall at Wokha village under DGAR and Army MCA project was constructed by 40 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) and HQ 5 Sector.
The community Hall was formally inaugurated by Major General Mahavir Singh, COS 3 Corps in the presence of Major General KS Sethi, IGAR (N), other civil and Military officers and village elders. The inaugural function evoked great enthusiasm amongst the villagers an they appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles. The Chairman, Mr P Murry expressed gratitude to 40 Assam Rifles and thanked Assam Rifles and Army for having under taken the noble cause of extending help of one of the oldest villages of Nagaland.
Speaking on the occasion, the COS expressed satisfaction ver the fact that both Assam Rifles and local community of Wokha village have worked in close cooperation to make the dream come true and get a well constructed multi purpose building. He said that he was sure that this close cooperation, friendship and harmony between security Forces and local populace will increase manifolds in the time to come.
He assured that Security Forces will continue to work for the betterment of the society and ensure the development of infrastructure in remote localities with and aim to bring about radical change in the socio-economic scene of Nagaland. He hoped that with the development of infrastructure peace will be established in the region and an environment for future progress will commence.
