Community joins hand for an extension building for GMS Wokha

Wokha, November 18 (MExN): The Government Middle School (GMS) Wokha recently got an extension building donated by Tsumang 'A' colony council. The building was inaugurated on November 14 with Deputy Commission Wokha Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon IAS as the special guest. The keynote address was given by Yanpvuo Ezung the chairman of Tsumang A colony.  

The special guest in his speech urged the teachers and staffs of the school to work hard in bringing about academic excellence. He pointed out that government schools in Wokha are lagging behind both in academic results and infrastructure compared to private schools while urging the teachers to give special emphasis on science and mathematics.  

The head teacher Chumbeni Murry appreciated the special guest for his time and the contribution for the welfare and upliftment of the community. Welcoming the new school management board, Murry thanked the community for the material contribution and the land donors for the extension building. She stated that this has been first of its kind in the history of the school since its inception, a press note from the media secretary of Tsumang A colony council informed.
