Tuensang, May 23 (MExN): The 29 Assam Rifles, under the leadership of Col Neelesh Bhardwaj, organised a community outreach programme at Kejok village in Tuensang district on May 18, as part of the Meri Life initiative.

The day-long event included a medical camp where villagers received free medical consultations and medicines. Students benefited from free dental check-ups and extractions. The initiative also featured various recreational activities, with games and sports organized for the children. Learning aids and gifts were distributed to the students to support their education.

In addition to the medical and educational support, a walkathon was organised, encouraging villagers to participate and promote a healthy lifestyle. Col. Bhardwaj addressed the gathering, urging the community to embrace practices that enhance both personal well-being and environmental sustainability. He emphasised the importance of conservation and sustainable living, aligning with the objectives of the Meri Life campaign.

The event saw the participation of 70 students, seven teachers, and villagers accompanied by the village leaders.
