Community participation develops health care in Pughoboto area

Zunheboto, November 21 (MExN): A Bio-Chemistry Blood Analyzer purchased with “contributions and prayers by the people of Pughoboto area with the initiative undertaken by Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH)” was installed at CHC Pughoboto. 

It was dedicated by Dr K Akaho Sema, CMO, Zunheboto on November 20. Dr Akaho who was the guest of honour at the dedication programme appreciated the community participation lead by SAH during this pandemic and said, “The investment will definitely bear fruits in the days to come.” 

He said that with installation of the machine, the people of Pughoboto can now avail services like Kidney Function Test, Liver Function Test, Lipid profile, Serum Calcium, Serum Uric Acid at reasonably low rate. 

He also highlighted about the current present COVID-19 status of Zunheboto district and Nagaland. “The next coming three months is going to be crucial in determining the COVID-19 status,’ the CMO said while emphasizing, “we should sacrifice and compromise our way of living, minimize public gatherings/meetings while adapting to the new normal life continuing with washing hands with soap and wearing face masks.” 

Dr Nukshisangla, DPO (RCH & UIP) also extended gratitude to the community of Aphuyemi in rendering selfless services. She said that community participation is important for any programme to be successful and called upon all to maintain the Blood Analyzer machine.

Ghuzhui Shohe, General Secretary, SAH briefly highlighted on how the machine donation drive started. He said the machine was bought with generous contributions and prayers from the general public and under the effective leadership and guidance from Dr Hokugha, SMO, Pughoboto CHC.

Ngukato K Tsuipu, President, Aphuyemi Sumi Küqhakulu, Kohima chaired the programme. Vixepu Swu, Secretary, SAH gave the introductory note. Bible reading and blessing of the machine was done by Rev Fr Luke Nagahoto, ofm Cap, Parish Priest, St Francis of Assisi, Pughoboto.
