Compulsory installation of CCTVs in Dimapur shops, streets deliberated

DIMAPUR, MAY 5 (MExN): After culmination of the 14th NLA elections, the first meeting of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DDPDB) was conducted on Friday under the chairmanship of Advisor Moatoshi Longkumer.

The meeting which was attended by Advisors Tovihoto Ayemi and Hekani Jakhalu deliberated on several agendas raised by the Chairman DPDB Dimapur, which included compulsory installation of CCTVs in all the shops and streets under Dimapur district. The chairman also suggested that all the departments also need to mandatorily install CCTV in their respective offices within a specific time frame.

For the street lights, the House agreed for sending proposal to the government through the Commissioner Police for sanction.

Another agenda discussed was removal of obsolete cable wires and telephone posts which destroys the outlook of the city. Towards this, DC Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal informed the House that the district administration has met the cable TV providers and field visit has also been conducted by SDO (C) and plan of action has been charted out. 

Other agendas discussed were the need for making Dimapur greener towards which the forest and horticulture department could chip in for taking the major responsibility.

The House also agreed to the suggestion of the Chairman DPDB Dimapur, wherein all the departments were asked for submission of progress report every month to the DC Dimapur, with a vision for working with transparency and commitment. 

Towards this, Advisor Hekani commented that public needs to know the schemes implemented by different departments, since we exist for the public. She also pointed out that Dimapur is a very important district of the State. Dimapur is the district which will shape the future of the State, she added. Towards this, she urged upon the officers to take Dimapur forward together with their strength and expertise.

Advisor Tovihoto appealed to the officers to take the privilege of serving the people of Dimapur and to make themselves available while reminding them of being fortunate to be posted at Dimapur in various capacities. He asked them to be punctual and regular in attending the DPDB meeting as the meeting is being conducted only once in a month.

Earlier, Chairman DPDB Dimapur expressed gratitude to the CM Nagaland, Rio and Dy. CM TR Zeliang for giving him the privilege to coordinate and work with the officers of Dimapur district.

DC Dimapur who is also the Vice Chairman DPDB, congratulated all the elected members and felicitated them on behalf of DPDB Dimapur.

Other agendas of the day included upgradation of schools, grant in aid, opening of para medical and allied department under Nagaland University and CMHIS registration. Team Dimapur also highlighted the activities undertaken with the aid of power point presentation.
