Concerned citizens caution River Chathe visitors

DIMAPUR, JUNE 3 (MExN): The Concerned Citizens, Chumukedima today conducted an awareness campaign erecting two notices of caution to visitors on the banks of River Chathe (the Patkai stretch) with the objective to create total awareness and to apply preventive measures especially to the students’ community. The programme was conducted as a result of the frequently occurring casualties which is becoming a serious threat to the society.

The programme was conducted with the co-operation from well wishers like the District Administration, Town Council, CMD, Patkai College Authority and CVc chairman. G-10 arts, studio friendship, I/C cable and citizens concerned, etc provided the required materials for the programme. 

The concerned citizens also submitted a memorandum to the District Administration, DC Dimapur urging to give more attention on awareness notifications in more constructive ways like introduction of helpline and rescue services and also to insist and direct subordinate bodies in respective area to priority of concern for collective effort to such life saving issues.

The citizens have also called upon the people to co-operate and put collective ideas in order to avoid more tragedy in the future.
