Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The Sumi Missionary Conference (SMC) comprising all Sumi denominations was held under the umbrella of Sumi Baptist Convention at SABAK Mission center Pughoboto from May 9-11 under the theme ‘Ready and Unashamed’.
Rev. Dr. ZK Rochill, Senior Aux. Secretary, Bible Society of India (BSI) Dimapur; Rev. Khevihe Yeptho, Associate Director, NMM; and Dr. Hokheto Chophi, Pastor, Sumi Baptist Church Kohima were the speakers. Rev. Shikuho Zhimo, Secretary, Mission department WSBAK led the bible study and Pastor Nivukhu, Chekiye Baptist Church presented a paper on ‘Envisioning Long Term Mission’ and Rev. Tokheho Executive Secretary NCRC exhorted the Missionaries, informed a press release from Rev. Dr, Khehovi Shohe, Director, Sumi Baptist Convention.
The main highlight of the programme, the release said, was PowerPoint presentation of the field ministry activities by different Sumi mission fields and presenting cultural items representing their tribes in India.
The following members have been selected to lead the SMF for two years (2017-2019), namely: Mughahoto, Pastor, SCF Shillong (President); Hutoshe, Missionary, Jorhat Assam (Vice President); Avito, Missionary, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh (General Secretary); Shikaho, Missionary ABCA Arunachal (Asst. General Secretary); Angeli, Missionary, Golpara Assam (Org. Secy); Kughaho, Pastor, SCF Guwahati (Treasurer); Khetovi, Missionary, Himachal Pradesh (Statistical Secy); Olivia, Missionary, Lalpahar Assam (Asst. Statis Secy); and Ghokheto, Missionary, Arunachal (Information Secy). Advisors are: Mission and Evangelism Directors/ Secretaries of five Sumi Associations (SBAK Aizuto/ SBAK Nitomount/ Sumi NCRC/ SABAK/ WSBAK and Director of Sumi Baptist Convention.
