In what it termed as a platform to link ‘to connect' employers and job seekers, the Government of Nagaland on June 26 launched ‘Nagaland JobLinks Portal’ for “effective engagement and placement in the Private Sector of the State.”

Advisor Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Industries & Commerce, Imnatiba officially launched the portal - https://joblinks.nagaland.gov.in/ at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima.

The High Powered Committee led by Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio during its meeting on June 10 had directed the department to register all returnees for skill development training for self employment in the State, the Advisor said.

Rio also informed about the creation via a tweet saying: “All unemployed people should register to enable the Govt. assess skill sets & plan for economic sectors.”

Apart from effective engagement and placement in the private sector of the state, the portal, designed and developed by the State’s Department of Information Technology & Communication, is aimed at providing a platform for citizens to “enroll in Up-Skilling, Re-Skilling and other Training Programmes provided by various Agencies.”

“By registering on this Portal, you will be enabling the Government of Nagaland in understanding the Skill Sets and Aspirations of the Job Seekers in Nagaland and explore ways and means for creating a vibrant Business oriented Private Sector driven economy in the State,” informed ‘Our Aim’ section of the portal.

The portal, however, has a disclaimer. “Registration in this portal does not guarantee placement,” it stated.

It was informed that the portal would also soon include registration of all “who plan to work outside the State, so as to enable quick assistance during emergencies or time of need.”
