The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland held its State Executive Committee meeting at Hotel Japfu Kohima on June 27 in the presence of Conrad K Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya and National president NPP.

In Nagaland, there are five elected representatives of NPP to 60 house of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

Addressing the NPP MLAs, NPP councillors, state frontal organizations and National Executive Committee members, Sangma said “Through patience, perseverance, commitment, hard work, and focus on issues that are very much related and important to the Northeast, we've been able to keep the flag of the party (NPP) flying high, and been able to make a mark in national politics.”

Today, he said, NPP proudly stands as one of the six political parties that has got the status of being a national party.

“And there is no other party in the Northeast that has got that status. It is a big thing,” he said.

Welcoming those from BJP and INC who recently joined NPP in Nagaland, he said “All of you are special to us. Every single drop adds to the ocean. I know that your contributions will be immense to taking the party forward.”

The Chief Minister also looks forward to working closely with them in the future and building the party and building the state of Nagaland.

Appealing the party leaders and members to work together, he said “A party can only grow if you are connected with the people.”

We need to connect with the people and take up the issues, Sangma said.

Thanking all the members, who have been with the party and committed and working very hard in spite of numerous challenges, the Chief Minister said “We will continue to work together in whatever circumstances”

Sangma also assured to support them in their different endeavors and activities “as we work forward to serve the people of Nagaland.”

Earlier, Sangma felicitated five NPP councillors from Kohima and Dimapur, National president NPWF of NPP Ane-u Khaming and new members of the party.

Earlier, the meeting  was chaired by A.Nyamnyei Konyak, MLA and president Nagaland state NPP while vote of thanks  was proposed by Dr. Kevisetuo Kintso, President NPP Kohima district.

The meeting was hosted by NPP Kohima District Committee.
