National People’s Party president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma with NPP leaders and representatives from Nagaland at Naithu Resort, Dimapur on October 11.

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 11 (MExN): National People’s Party (NPP) president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday held a series of consultative and interactive meetings with NPP leaders and representatives from Nagaland at Naithu Resort, Dimapur.
Sangma was accompanied by NPP national general secretary Paknga Bage, national secretary Saidul Hussain and national youth president Nicky Lyngdoh.
The visit was aimed at strengthening coordination between the party’s national leadership and the Nagaland state unit. Sangma reviewed the party’s activities, interacted with various organizational levels and frontal wings, and discussed strategies to expand the NPP’s presence in the state.
The meetings began with the Leader of the Party (LoP) in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Nuklutoshi Longkumer, and the NPP MLAs, followed by an interaction with the state office bearers led by state president A Nyamnyei Konyak. Key organizational and structural issues were deliberated during the discussions.
Sangma also met NPP councillors from Dimapur and Kohima, and held separate sessions with the party’s frontal wings, the NPP Women’s Front, NPP Youth Front and NPP Minority Front.
Representations were submitted by the state units and various organizational wings highlighting issues and recommendations to strengthen the party structure from the state level down to the grassroots. Discussions focused on capacity building, district-level coordination, membership drive, leadership training, and empowerment of youth and women, besides improving communication and outreach mechanisms.
Appreciating the proactive efforts of the Nagaland state leadership, Sangma assured full support and cooperation from the national headquarters. He urged party members to maintain teamwork, discipline and commitment ahead of the 2028 Nagaland Assembly and 2029 Parliamentary elections.
The NPP Nagaland leadership expressed gratitude to Sangma for his visit and guidance, reiterating their commitment to the party’s principles of inclusive growth, transparency and good governance.
