Construction of minister’s quarter at Thizama

Four out of eleven Minister's quarters have been completely constructed at Thizama and are now ready for occupation.   This was stated in the annual administrative report of public works department 2017-18 laid by the minister for PWD Tongpang Ozukum on the floor of the House.  

The report stated that the original estimated cost for this project was Rs. 3482.00 lakhs. However, due to increase in the plinth area and addition of some new items, the cost was revised to Rs. 4059.84 lakhs. The project site covers an area of 23.58 acres and is located at Thizama.  

The architectural designs of the building were done by the architects of the NPWD (P&D) cell. The report also stated that the construction of Chief Minister’s residential complex is nearing completion. The complex consists of four main components- main residence, office, state banquet hall and guest house. Besides, there are 44 units of staff quarters and seven numbers of services and supporting facilities. The total plinth area of all the units combined together is 1, 05, 551 sq ft.
