Dignitaries and others during Consumer Protection Awareness Programme at Chozuba on June 17.

Kohima, June 18 (MExN): In compliance with the directive of central authorities, another Consumer Protection Awareness Programme was organised by Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Phek and Phek District Legal Services Authority at Government Higher Secondary School, Chozuba.
Resource speaker Mezivolu T Therieh, District & Session Judge cum Chairperson Phek DLSA emphasised on the new provisions introduced in the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
She emphasised that a consumer is not only buying stuffs but being aware, asking questions and standing up for what is fair.
Shiekhozo Rhakho Asst. Controller LM&CP, Phek said that consumer protection is not just about addressing complaints but empowering its citizens and holding businesses accountable.
Earlier, Keneinuo Swuro shared about the purpose of the programme and also dealt with the functioning of the Legal Services Authority.
GHSS Chozuba principal Sedukholu Thisa expressed that Phek District Legal Services Authority has been conducting numerous legal awareness programmes and the school has benefited from the sessions even in the past.
Later, interactive session was led by Sekhotso Rokha, Panel lawyer PDLSA.
