Continue to preserve, practice aged-old cultural values: Advisor Khehovi

Tichipami (Zunheboto), July 7 (MExN): Nagaland Advisor to Tourism, Art and Culture, H Khehovi Yeputhomi today called for passing down cultural knowledge to youngsters for preserving and practicing aged-old cultural values.

While appreciating the village elders for nurturing and instilling the traditional cultural values, he said that every village elders should continue to pass down their cultural knowledge to the youngsters to continue to preserve and practice aged-old cultural values.  

The Advisor made the exhortation during the celebration of Tuluni festival in Tichipami village, where he was the Tuluni Papu (Special Guest), informed a press release from his PS. 

He further noted that Tuluni is one of the most important Sumi festivals and he was overjoyed to be part of the celebration in Tichipami.

As per the release, he also expressed appreciation to the  Tichipami villagers for still maintaining the traditional jail and maintained that due to such rules and strictness, people are “always well disciplined and mannered.” 

He further said that after he took over the charge of Tourism department, Tichipami was given the first privilege and opportunity to represent Sumi in the Hornbill Festival 2018 because the villagers are “always known for their unity in all aspects.”
