Wokha, September 28 (MExN): In commemoration of Poshan Maah celebration, a cooking competition was organised by Department of Social Welfare, Wokha in collaboration with Police Family Welfare, District Executive Force (DEF) Wokha at Police Reserve, Wokha on September 28.
District Programme Officer (DWO) C James Ezung, briefing the participants said that September month marks Poshan Maah which is nationwide celebration dedicated in promoting nutrition awareness and driving action towards building a healthier society.
Sr Supervisor, Erenbeni Kikon emphasised on nutritional values of adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mother and children from 0-6 years of age which aims in improving key nutrition for both the children and women.
Superintendent of Police, Wokha Aotula T Imchen, thanked the department of Social Welfare for giving platform to the DEF Police Family Welfare to take part in such event making them learn the importance of nutrition. She also expressed appreciation department for all the logistic support and sponsoring the prizes for the competition.
Altogether 13 participants took part in the cooking competition. Nzubeni Kinghen (Changpang Police Station) was adjudged the winner, while Chumbeno and Bideno (Women PS) and Zuthungbeni Sangtam (Bhandari PS) were declared the second and third winners respectively. The cash awards were handed over by SP Wokha.
