
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 18 (MExN): Cooking competitions were organized by ICDS projects in Tseminyu and Longleng districts, highlighting local culinary talents and health awareness on September 18.
In Tseminyu, the CDPO office hosted a block-level cooking competition at the BDO office. The event was graced by EAC (Dev) Tseminyu, Molosangla Ozukum, who commended the CDPO Tseminyu and its staff for their efforts. She emphasized the importance of involving more stakeholders to showcase talent and promote local organic foods with medicinal benefits.
Ozukum also encouraged participants to adopt organic cooking practices and advocated for increased participation from both women and men. The competition, chaired by Hannah Lorin, saw Tseminyu Town clinch the first position, followed by Chunlikh in second place and Tsokhinsin & Phenda Village sharing the third position. Obed Magh, Sr. Supervisor at the CDPO office, delivered the welcome address, and Allen Seb, Block Coordinator Tseminyu, gave the vote of thanks.
Simultaneously, the ICDS Longleng project conducted a cooking competition and anaemia camp at Yachem village. The event was attended by EAC C. Tsalimse Sangtam, who highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts for the success of such activities. The anaemia camp, supervised by Dr. Visino Nakhro from CHC Yachem, drew over 60 beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of health alongside culinary skills.
