Mokokchung, April 7 (DIPR): A coordination meeting of 9 (nine) villages under Merangmen administrative circle was held on April 5 in connection with the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2014 under the chairmanship of Nyempo Wallim. All Council Chairmen and GB representatives of the villages attended the meeting. They were briefed on the guidelines and instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and informed of the None Of The Above (NOTA) option available on the voting machine.
The electors of these nine border villages under Mokokchung district do not have polling stations in their own villages. Therefore, they have to travel up to Longtho village, which is more than 20 kms from the farthest village, to exercise their voting in the 8 (eight) Auxiliary Polling Stations.
The Sector Commander Lipoktemsu, A/C C/2nd NAP also addressed the meeting. He appealed to the villagers to exercise ethical and peaceful voting.
