Coordination meetings held ahead of Independence Day celebrations

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 5 (MExN): In preparation for the 79th Independence Day celebrations, coordination meetings were held across various districts and sub-divisions of Nagaland on August 5, to finalise responsibilities and logistics for the upcoming national event.

In Longleng, a coordination meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom, NCS, at the DPDB Hall. Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Meyazungba Jamir briefed the gathering on the work distribution and duty assignments for different departments. It was also informed that a mass cleanliness drive would be conducted on August 9 as part of the celebration preparations. Heads of departments from across the district attended the meeting.

In Chiephobozou sub-division under Kohima district, the monthly coordination meeting of heads of departments was held at the DB’s Court, ADC Office, chaired by EAC MoaSunep Jingru. The meeting focused on work allocation, logistics, and departmental responsibilities for Independence Day. EAC Jingru urged all officials to execute their respective duties with diligence and to ensure their presence on the day of the event. Departmental updates were presented by Visasielie Suhu, SDEO Chiephobozou.

In Tizit sub-division under Mon district, Additional Deputy Commissioner Relise Sangtam chaired a coordination meeting at the ADC Conference Hall. Assignments for the smooth conduct of the Independence Day celebration were discussed and distributed among departments and institutions. SDC (C) Tizit was appointed overall in-charge of the celebration arrangements. The meeting also resolved to carry out a mass social work on August 9. The meeting was attended by heads of offices, uniformed personnel, educational institutions, NGOs, Gaon Buras, and ward chairpersons.
