The Co-ordination Committee (CorCom) has expressed its "heartfelt" condolence at the demise of Isak Chishi Swu, Chairman of NSCN-IM. CorCom is an umbrella group in Manipur that includes the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), its Progressive faction (PREPAK-Pro), Revolutionary People's Front (RPF – the political wing of the People’s Liberation Army – PLA) and United National Liberation Front (UNLF).
"Our hearts are deeply saddened at the demise of Sir Isak Chishi Swu, honourable Chairman of NSCN9IM)," the CorCom message said.
It then stated that in his "long and fruitful" life as a revolutionary leader of "our WESEA region Sir Isak Chishi" served and dedicated his whole life to the cause of his people and was an inspiration to so many freedom fighters of the region. He was courageous and unwavering during his national service and deeply religious.
"Our painful thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time when he received the final call of the Almighty. May his soul rest in peace," the CorCom condolence message said.
