Coronavirus: Nagaland Health Dept takes preventive measures

•    Asks Dimapur airport authority to share lists of passengers from affected countries
•    Informs Rapid Response Teams to be on alert 

 

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Directorate of Health and Family Welfare has asked the Airport Authority of India, Dimapur to share the list of passengers travelling to and from China and other countries affected by the Coronavirus and transitting through Kolkata. 


NHM, Nagaland Mission Director, Dr Kevichusa Medikhru issued a letter to the Director of the Airport Authority of India, Dimapur stating that the Coronavirus outbreak is of paramount health concern, and asked that the authority to make available the list of the concerned passengers. 


The letter further informed that the District Health Authority of Dimapur would in touch with the Airport Authority through the District Surveillance Unit. 


The NHM Director meanwhile also informed all Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) to be on alert in view of the outbreak of the Coronavirus which has already spread to many countries including Nepal. 


In a circular, he asked that adequate measures be taken for immediate detection, intervention and mitigation as and when the need arises.
