Charity car wash raises funds for little children
Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): Helping to raise money for the little children of Mother’s Hope, a Car Wash Fundraiser was held in Dimapur today. This car wash will help raise money to purchase Air Conditioners for the baby nursery and show support for the work done by Mother’s Hope. The brilliant idea was initiated by Riverlife group, a team of 15 young working professionals willing to lend a helping hand to the society.
The chief guest for the inaugural programme was SDO (Civil) Dimapur Temjensangla Assumi. The SDO was also the first donor of the fundraiser.
K.Agape Achumi, Manager-Sales, expressed happiness at the response and support received on the first day alone. “We are receiving a lot of support from businesses, individuals, and organizations. Other showrooms have also extended immense help,” he said. “It was more than expected and I hope people continue to be inspired to reach out to those who require our assistance.”
Achumi also stressed that the event is not a brand promotion. “This is not about us at all but solely organized for the benefit of the little children,” he asserted. “We also hope that through this event, other charity organizations have a point of contact with the corporate sector.” He expressed that in Nagaland, the idea of corporate responsibility has not really picked up as of yet. “We are hoping for this to change, because Nagaland has huge number of showrooms now and the market is ever expanding. It is essential that companies realize the importance of Corporate Responsibility,” he added.
In her message, Moamenla Jamir, Founder Director, Mother’s Hope thanked Okusa Toyota Dimapur for its generosity and “setting an incredible example in the corporate sector in taking up social responsibility and remembering the less fortunate in the midst of your success.” She further acknowledged each person who had come forward in contributing their “time, resources, and finance to make this event a grand success.”
