Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): In view of the recent reports in the news media about Cosyne Career Institute (CCI), the Vice President of the Institute today asserted it has not misused any funds and added that the records can be obtained from the Government of India or from the CCI’s office.
A press release issued by the Vice President of the Cosyne Career Institute (CCI), Dr Aola said that CCI’s training of the 100 students was conducted according to and exceeding the requirements in the MOU signed with the Government of Nagaland. CCI’s fund utilization reports will show that Cosyne received Rs. 42.8 Lakhs and not Rs. 47 Lakhs. She said that the records of expenditure are available with the Government of Nagaland and added that under the RTI Act all this information can be obtained by anyone from the Government or from CCI’s office.
“If anyone has information that CCI has misused the money the same can be submitted to the Government of Nagaland” added Dr Aola. About deception with regard to placement opportunities after completion of the course as promised by Cosyne, Dr Aola said that the CCI have provided placements to all the students who have met the requirements of the MOU/ Contractual agreement and those who have responded to Cosyne’s employment offer.
In this regard, she said, “If any student have fulfilled these requirements and not got employment it is because they have not responded in time to the employment offer given by Cosyne which was either published in newspaper, emailed, post or phoned”. Dr Aola, on behalf of Cosyne Career Institute, further requested anyone having genuine grievances against the institute to either inform the institute or the Government saying that the Government, under the MOU has a process outlined to resolve any disputes that may arise.
The Vice resident of the CCI, further requested the news media to refrain from publishing ‘unfounded allegations’ from anyone without properly verifying from all parties involved. “It will be in keeping with high journalistic tradition not to print anything that is libelous and harmful for those students already employed, and also for the good of the Youth of Nagaland” said Dr Aola. It may be mentioned that the Cosyne Career Institute, a computer institute, located in Midland in Dimapur have been facing serious allegations by former students who alleged that they were cheated .
