Wokha, September 11 (MExN): Under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), COTPA Flying Squad consisting of District Administration, Police, Excise, Lotha Students Union, DBs and Women Police and members from NTCP led by District Nodal Officer, Dr Daisy conducted raids on tobacco products in an around the schools and colleges areas on September 11.
The team was divided in to four groups and raid was carried out in all the institutional areas within Wokha town where the team seized various tobacco products selling in an around the schools and colleges area. Altogether 15 defaulters were penalized under COTPA Act, stated a DIPR report.
District Nodal Officer NTCP, Dr Daisy informed that similar raids will be carried out frequently. She also thanked all members for the support extended in carrying out the raid. The seized products were destroyed the same day in presence of all the Flying Squad members.
