Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): Apropos the news item published in local dailies on January 21, 2024 with the headline, ‘FGN Tatar Hoho Speaker reacts to press statement’ issued by Kunuchosa Rhakho, the “expelled former speaker from the NNC/FGN because of conducting the unconstitutional meeting and the committed coup at K Basa Village on September 23, 2023 to destabilize the nation,” Zaleo, Killo Kilonser, FGN has issued a counter rejoinder “so that readers will not be falsely informed.”
In a statement received here, Zaleo said, “it is amusing to note the belated reaction from Rhakho on January 20, 2024 over my personal call to our people for repentance to enable national unity that was published on December 13, 2023. Also it is a surprise as to how my appeal invited such a reaction of derision from him.”
“However, his ambiguous reaction statement lacks clarity of purpose because it cannot be established as to whether it was an attempt of character assassination and personal malice or an accusation of national political institution (NNC) and its legitimate Govt (FGN),” the Killo Kilonser remarked.
‘Whatsoever, it is an undeniable fact that national responsibility, authority of office and leadership are universally governed by the will, convention and the law of the land under its constitution,’ he added.
He said that it will be unbecoming on his part to “unnecessarily respond to his accusations word by word because it will have no relevance to our national interest.”
Zaleo alleged that ‘his (Rhakho) favorite use of the word, “dictatorial behavior” was earlier leveled against Gen (Retd) TM Keyho, president of NNC, way back in 2018 when some people defected from the NNC/FGN to join hands in the NNPGs (Naga National Political Groups) to accept a solution under the constitution of India by throwing away Naga sovereignty which has no meaning in Naga dictionary.’
“Despite all the shameful accusations by Rhakho, I am contented to inform our people that our National Govt is functioning smoothly in and abroad upholding the plebiscite of 1951 and defending our national sovereignty which is the ray of hope for our people,” he asserted.
“I feel pity on Rhakho because not to mention of his grasp over the essence of his reaction statement, he is gleefully dancing to the tune of the write up of which he is ignorant and gladly singing in innocent bliss,” Zaleo said while adding, “I wish that our people must not form wrong opinions for every write up but discern issues meticulously to stand firm and be a true Naga in words and deeds.”
