
Dimapur PWD complex being sealed on Wednesday.
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): In an unprecedented act, the whole PWD complex Dimapur was sealed by the Court on Wednesday evening as a follow up action of the directive from the District High Court, Zunheboto to attach the “land and office buildings of the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Zunheboto and Dimapur in order to pay the outstanding dues owed to a contractor by the Nagaland State Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges).”
The District Court, Zunheboto, had “attached the land and office building of the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Zunheboto vide order dated 25.09.2018 for proclamation of sale of the same in order to pay the contractor- Aien Meren Enterprises out of the sale proceeds.
It had then issued a precept to the counterpart Court of Dimapur for attachment and sale of the land and office building of the Executive Engineer, PWD (R & B) Dimapur, since the sale of the property of Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Zunheboto would not satisfy the entire decretal amount, i.e. Rs. 3, 97, 98,000/- with interest @7% and cost of the suit.”
Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Dimapur, Er Talitemsu Jamir in a letter to the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) on Wednesday informed that an order Ref: CMC 94/2018 dated 31/10.2018 was passed by the Principal Distirct & Session Judge Dimapur to which the follow up action was done by sealing the whole PDW complex at around 4:50 pm.
The action is taken in connection with the civil suit no 01/17 originated from District Court Zunheboto- Aien Meren Enterprise vs. State of Nagaland and 3 others, the letter stated.
District Judge, Zunheboto, Niechochiyi Suyie NJS had earlier stated during the passing of the exemplary order, “to ping the sleeping giants from its deep slumber and to make awake for payment of the bill due to the Plaintiff with the interest and costs of the suit is allowed.”
