Courtney Love makes claim to have 'located' missing MH370

It has been missing since March 8 after vanishing during its journey from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board, sparking a mass international search effort and thousands of conspiracy theories.  And now, none other than Courtney Love has weighed in with her own verdict on where the Malaysian airlines plane MH370 has disappeared to.

'I'm no expert but this looks
like a plane and an oil slick'

Alongside a photograph of satellite imagery from crowd sourcing website Tomnod, Courtney wrote: 'I'm no expert but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick.' Helpfully, the rocker marked in red where she believed the oil spots and the plane were lying in wreckage. '[It's] like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they 'last' tracked it 5°39'08.5"N 98°50'38.0"E but what do I know?' she added.

Thrilled with her 'discovery', the singer retweeted several news articles reporting her post. 'I went to the satellite site and just uploaded tons and tons of pictures,' she told the publication. 'I really doubt aliens took it. It's got to be somewhere.'

Satellite company DigitalGlobe uploaded high-resolution satellite and aerial images to its Tomnod site that lets people explore the seas for clues about the crash, as well signs of a wreckage or oil slick. Images are then tagged by users and analysed by experts before the most significant sightings are sent to the search teams in Asia.

'I mean I don't know anything about aviation per se,' Courtney told the magazine. 'I saw an article asked people to help search on Tomnod.com so I decided to give it a shot. 'I figured a plane would still be leaking some fuel so I searched for signs of an oil slick. I found one and there appeared to be an object nearby. I don't know if it is the plane or not, but I figured I'd do my part and bring some awareness to the site, for the sake of all the families involved. 'I hope they find the plane, I pray they're still alive.'
