COVID-19: 110 active cases in Nagaland

Nagaland’s total count of active COVID-19 cases increased to 110 after test results of 11 cases returned positive on June 7. 


With this, the state’s tally of COVID-19 infection stands at 118. However, with 8 recoveries, the number of active cases has been reduced to 110.


"All positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. Active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection," State Spokesperson Neiba Kronu informed during the daily briefing on COVID-19.


As per data provided by the Department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW), all 110 cases are asymptomatic.


Deputy Director, H&FW, Dr Kikameren Longkumer also informed that the recovered cases are currently placed at the COVID Care Center (CCC) where they will stay for another 14 days. "We have one of the strictest discharge policy," he added.


Out of 118 patients, 112 are in 18-44 age group, 5 in 0-17 years age group and a single case in 45-65 years age bracket, as per the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard. There are 82 males and 36 females among the 118 cases.
