Nagaland saw another big daily spike in COVID-19 cases on Sunday with detection of 50 new cases.
“50 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 328 test results received,” State Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter.
The new cases included 28 from Kohima, 13 from Mon and 9 in Dimapur, he added.
With this, the Nagaland COVID status as of 12:52 PM on July 26 stood at: Positive - 1339; Active – 794; Recovered – 541.
Meanwhile, State Health authorities including Pangnyu, on Saturday informed that the State has “reported 4 deaths” as of July 25.
However, the Minister stressed that “investigation is on and subject to further verification to establish the link with COVID-19 as co-morbid conditions were present.”
The Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard also put the number of deaths at 4, with a disclaimer that the “Cause of Death under investigation.
”The State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) also stressed also reiterated that the actual cause of the 4 reported fatalities were “All subject to confirmation through investigation.”
