Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): Can Youth inaugurated the COVID information tool booth, legal support tool booth and first aid booth under the Project Co-IRA (Information Response Act) in collaboration with District administration, Dimapur Municipal Council, KAL Lawyers Group and Dimapur Traffic Police at Burma Camp on July 9.
The first booths were started in Burma Camp and Khermahal on Friday. The installation programme began with an invocation by Pastor Tenyenlo Rengma, Cross Wonder Church, Burma Camp and launched by Albert Ezung, Administrator Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC).
Sentiwati, Coordinator, Project Development 4 Adolescent (Can Youth) gave a brief introduction on the project Co-IRA.
He stated that through this project, the staff from Can Youth and volunteers from Pack Sketch & Equality youth organization aims to provide support to the community on COVID-19 myths and facts, free medical aid and free legal aid support through KAL group, legal practitioners and consultants.
Albert Ezung , Administrator DMC appreciated the staff and volunteers of Can Youth for the initiative which will give knowledge and awareness to the community, and help those in need during the pandemic by providing free services.
He also encouraged the team to follow proper COVID-19 SOPs and set an example for the passersby by maintaining cleanliness in the booth.
The DMC also donated dustbins to be set up in and around the information tool booth.
Can Youth on Friday informed that so far, it has distributed PPE kits, sanitary pads ,N95 mask, hand sanitizer , pamplets , oximeters to PHC- Burma Camp , PHC-Duncan through Project Co-IRA.
It has also provided COVID medical assistance at Kuhuboto Primary Health Centre while PPE kits have also been handed over to the Mon district administration.
Kivitoli K Sema, Board Secretary, Can Youth concluded the session with a vote of thanks. She acknowledged all the volunteers and well wishers for their assistance in the proper functioning of the tool booth.
