The median or average age of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Nagaland is 31 years, according to official data of the health department.  

However, the cases range from 5 months to 93 years, as per the  ‘COVID-19: Weekly Bulletin’ issued by Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland on August 22.

The Weekly Bulletin reflected the status as of August 21. 

According to the ‘distribution of confirmed cases by gender, symptoms, age groups,’82 % of the confirmed cases are males.

In absolute terms, there were 2969 cases among males as against 650 females.  

 This includes a large percentage from the military, the bulletin informed. 

Only 0.4 % of confirmed cases have comorbidity, it added.  The state maintained a slightly better figure than the country average in terms of testing of samples at 26 per thousand population as against national average of 25.60 per thousand.
