COVID-19: Nagaland records 123 new cases; 51 recoveries

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): A total of 123 new COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Nagaland on October 4, informed a health authority. The State also recorded 51 recoveries on Sunday.

“State COVID-19 Update! 123 +ve cases of #COVID-19 detected today. Dimapur- 74, Kohima-48 & Longleng-1,” Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter.

He further informed that 51 patients have been recovered and discharged.

The recoveries include 40 from Dimapur, Tuensang from 5, Kohima-3, Mokokchung-2 and Mon-1.

This is the second consecutive days on which the cases have been over 100, even as the State is witnessing a surge in cases since second week of September. There were 111 fresh cases on October 3. 

With this, the total cases have gone up to 6552, out of which 1222 are active and 5258 are denoted as recovered.  The State has also recorded 12 deaths while 5 cases are denoted as positive but not COVID-19 related death and 5 deaths are under investigation. 50 cases have migrated from the State.
