COVID-19: Nagaland records highest single-day recovery of 60 cases

Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): Nagaland recorded the highest single-day recovery of 60 COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 303. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 47%. 


According to the daily bulletin issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW), Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, 59 of the recoveries were reported from Peren district while the other was reported from Kohima.


Nagaland H&FW Minister S Pangnyu Phom confirmed the recoveries on micro-blogging site Twitter and said the recovered patients “will be kept under strict surveillance.”


Mranwhile, the state also reported 19 new COVID-19 cases on July 7, raising the total number of infections in the state to 644.
Of the new cases, Kohima reported a single case, while Mon and Tuensang districts accounted for 10 and 8 cases respectively.


With this, the state tally of active cases now stands at 341. 


According to the daily briefing issued through the state DIPR, all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, 338 active cases are asymptomatic and 2 active cases are mild, and 1 case is moderate.
