
Total active cases fall from 107 to 99

Nagaland’s active COVID-19 count reduced to 99 after second test results of 8 cases returned negative on June 6. Earlier, the count had risen to 107 after 13 new cases were reported on Saturday morning.
Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, during his daily briefing on COVID-19, informed that “Out of the 107 positive cases, 8 have recovered after treatment in COVID-19 hospital.” He also stated that the results on 1340 samples are awaited.
Minister Pangnyu also confirmed this in a tweet that read “Very delighted to share that 8 patients admitted at COVID-19 hospital, Dmp were tested negative for COVID-19 in second test. They have been shifted to COVID-19 Care Centre and they are under the process of discharge for home quarantine under active surveillance.”
According to the State Health Department, all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and most cases are either asymptomatic or mild symptoms.
Out of 107 patients, 103 are in 18-44 age group, while the rest 17 years or below, as per the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard. There are 75 males and 32 females among the 107 cases.
