COVID-19: No community transmission in Manipur

There is no community transmission of COVID-19 in Manipur, said a press statement of the COVID-19 Common Control Room that stated the "positivity rate" of the state is 0.64.

 

A cumulative total of 311 samples including eight samples submitted on Friday have been tested.

 

It can be noted here that, till date, Manipur has reported only two COVID-19 positive cases but one of them is already cured.

 

Meanwhile, the latest status update on COVID-19 of the state Medical Directorate showed 6458 individuals including 15 returnees from foreign countries, 6317 returnees from outside the state were/are in quarantine in the state.

 

Among them, 126 are/were in government designated quarantine centres while the rest were/are on home quarantine.

 

In the state, a total of 1,91,809 individuals were screened at eight different entry points of the state.

 

With 325 individuals screened on Friday, a total of 48,777 individuals have been screened so far at Mao Gate bordering Nagaland, while including 122 screened on Friday the total of 6486 have been screened for the fever at Jiribam bordering Assam.

 

Meanwhile, saying that the state government is putting all efforts to help the people in need, the press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated that many people are unable to get prescription drugs due to the lockdown.

 

In partial fulfilment of this effort, the newly established “Medicine Help Service” desk has helped many individuals whose drugs are not available in their local pharmacies.
