COVID-19 recoveries surpass new cases, Nagaland tally at 5,229

Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Nagaland has registered 15 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 5,229. Another 27 patients who were earlier infected by COVID-19 have recovered from the disease on Tuesday.

Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed on Twitter that the new cases were detected from among 304 samples that were tested.

The health minister informed that eight have been detected in Dimapur district, four in Kohima, and one each in Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon districts.

All the new cases of recoveries were reported from Kohima district. The state now has a total of 3,927 recovered cases.

With this the number of active cases in the state now stands at 1,269.

As per the severity of symptoms, 1,259 active cases are asymptomatic, eight active cases are mild and two active cases are moderate.

According to data provided by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, nine new cases were detected among traced contacts, four among returnees/travelers while there were one case each from armed forces/security personnel and front line workers.
