Ten persons outside QCs test positive in Kohima

10 out of 23 people testing positive for COVID-19 Kohima on July 27 were outside quarantine centres, State Nodal Officer for IDSP, Dr Nyan Kikon informed today. The rest (13) were from QCs.

The official also confirmed that the ten cases are part of contacts traced from previous positive cases and "still comes under local transmission."

"This virus is very unpredictable, the way it moves. Some people who are in close contact are not positive while some low risk persons are tested positive," Kikon said. 

Out of the 10 cases detected outside QCs, 2 were Lower Chandmari colony, while there was one case each from D' Block colony, Officers' Hills colony, Lower Lerie colony, Bayavü colony, Midland colony and L. Khel Kohima.

The other two persons who tested positive were from Zübza.

According to sources, the positive cases at Lower Chandmari colony were reportedly shopkeepers.
