Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): The 93 bedded COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Chümoukedima, Dimapur, was inaugurated by Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Anoop Kinchi on June 22. The Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Training centre in Chümoukedima has been converted into a 93 bedded CCC and will be jointly looked after by the CIHSR and H&FW, stated a DIPR report.  Addressing the activation programme, DC Dimapur stated that the CCC will be a place between hospital and quarantine centre. He also acknowledged God while pointing out that the high recovery rate in Nagaland, with a record of more than 66%, was a result of the sacrifices of frontline workers. 


According to the DIPR, Dimapur Medical Superintendent Dr Kheshito Zhimomi pointed out that the Government hospital has been focused on COVID cases for the past three months and said that besides COVID cases; problems of normal patients with other ailments also need to be addressed. He also noted that presently all positive cases are young people however, “if community transmission starts, it will affect all people irrespective of age and people with morbidity will be vulnerable,” As such, he stressed on the need to arrange more hospitals.


CIHSR Director, Dr Sedevi Angami expressed happiness to work in partnership with the Government and said that such initiatives should continue in the future. He also spelled out the need for decentralizing testing, increased community mass campaigning and distribution of educative pamphlets. CP Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo meanwhile encouraged all the government employees in Dimapur and said that it was an opportunity to contribute something towards the society. “Let all continue to work together,” he appealed. CMO Dimapur delivered the welcome note while Town Baptist Church Chümoukedima, Pastor Rev Sazo Kire said the dedication prayer, the report stated.
