CP Dimapur recognizes children of police personnel for topping HSLC

The office of the Commissioner of Police (CP), Dimapur today felicitated two children of its unit personnel who were among the top 20 positions in the recently declared HSLC examination, 2024. The brief event which was held at the CP Office Chamber was attended by the families and police personnel.

Suyaben Longkumer, from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur secured the top 10 position. She is the daughter of C/N Nungshipokba of 1st NAP Battalion attached to CP Dimapur. Meanwhile, Rajnish Kumar Singh, from MGM Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, son of C/N (Dvr) Chandan Kumar Singh of CP Dimapur secured the top 18.

While congratulating the successful candidates, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie encouraged both the students to be ‘more humble and disciplined’ as they embark on a new academic journey.

“Never let success go to your head,” the CP said even as he cautioned the young students that the higher one go, the fall back will apparently be harder. He underscored the importance of making the right career choice, and that the police force will be there for them. “Our doors are always open to guide you,” he added.

While noting that a major hurdle has been crossed, he heartened them to strive for excellence wherever they go, and to consistently try to be an asset to the society.

Suyaben and Rajnish, in their short speech acknowledged the office of the CP for the recognition rendered upon them. The felicitation programme was chaired by Tiamenla Phom, Addl Deputy Commissioner of Police (W&J).
