Dimapur, November 9 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has expressed dismay over the press statement of WC, NNPGs that had “scorely blamed the President and General Secretary of Public Action Committee of NCD.”
“Whatever humane problems they are facing should be discussed across the table to find humane solution through mutual understanding,” a press statement from CPO President Mikha Kenye and General Secretary Veduvo Rhakho stated.
At a time when the tribal Hohos have extended their support for logical conclusion of the political negotiations, creating another cycle of threat and intimidation was “totally uncalled for and very unfortunate,” it held.
Rather, the statement maintained that PAC undertook the task in public interest which “otherwise is the job of the government of the day to tackle such law and order problem.”
Stating that the PAC has mass support on the issue, the CPO held that the WC, NNPGs “cannot afford to take the public for granted in giving public support for political talks.”
Such statement run the risk of derailing the agreement awaiting the final seal, it observed. Meanwhile, the CPO has appealed to WC NNPGs to retract from their statement and exercise restraint “even in future for the larger interest of peace.”
