Chepoketa generates Rs 3 crore through ginger cultivation

The Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) has honoured ten Chakhesang villages in different fields of human enterprise.
“In order to encourage our people in different fields of human enterprise, the CPO decided to award certificate of appreciation and recognition to some villages in our (Chakhesang) community deserving recognition for their extraordinary efforts and innovative initiatives for posterity,” said CPO president Vezühü Keyho.
The certificate of recognition has been handed over to the concerned awardees by Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor, Küdecho Khamo during 42nd General Session of CPO at Chizami in Phek district on January 24.
Leshemi village has been honoured with certificates of appreciation for being the first amongst the Chakhesang villages of displaying honesty and trust while selling their agricultural products on the road side without physical presence of vendor.
Chepoketa village for large scale ginger cultivation. It is learnt that more than Rs 3 crore has been generated through ginger cultivation in 2023.
Zapami village for excellent implementation of government schemes among the Chakhesang villages.
Süthozu Nasa village for being the most proficient woodcraft among the Chakhesang villages.
Sümi village for being the most proficient in keeping alive the tradition of growing cotton and craft amongst the Chakhesang villages.
Thipuzu village for the most progressive horticulture farming amongst the Chakhesang villages. It is leant that Thipuzu village sold more than 1 lakh kgs of Kiwi during 2023.
Bade village for steadfastly upholding the Chakhesang village integrity in the plain sector and for being loyal to Chakhesang people amongst the Chakhesang villages.
Gidemi village for being the most proficient in making men traditional attires amongst the Chakhesang villages.
Sakraba village for being hard working and disposing their agricultural products at the most reasonable price among the Chakhesang villages and Khezhakeno village for being the most prompt village while delivering CPO General Census 2023 amongst the Chakhesang villages.
