Crash guards, bull bars on cars illegal

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Police today notified that fitment/fitting of crash guards/ bull bars on motor vehicles is in contravention of Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and attracts penalty under Section 190 and Section 191 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. An order from the Sr Superintendent of Police, Kohima therefore directed vehicle owners who have installed crash guards/ bull bars on their vehicles to remove the unauthorized fitments from their vehicles within 15 days from the issue of this order. In the event of failure to comply with the order, penalty will be imposed on the offenders as per provisions of the MV Act, 1988, the order cautioned.
