‘Create awareness in preserving natural & Forest resources’

DIMAPUR, May 9 (MExN): Addl. PCCF & CWLW Nagaland A. Rongsenwati IFS while speaking as the chief guest to the officers present during the inaugural function of the Refresher Course for Frontline Staff here today at the Forestry Training School, lamented over the poor execution and functioning of the Forest Departments in the state over the years. He was also of the view that by just sitting across the table it would not create the awareness among the masses to preserve the rich natural and forest resources. “Preserve our rich bio-diversity” urged the chief guest and challenged the fellow officers from different districts to reach each and every corner of the remote places and generate the understanding the benefits among the masses in preserving the natural and forest resources.

While citing thee example of the Bamboo Mission functioning under some non-governmental agencies supported by the central government, Rongsenwati expressed grief over the fact that the ‘Mission’ was actually supposed to be under the Forest department. He articulated that the project was transferred due to the departments’ incapability of sustaining such project and called the officers to be more “Discipline” in performing the duties.
