Create employment opportunities for youth in private sector: Advisor Imnatiba urges DoIC officers

Kohima, April 19 (MExN):  Expressing concerns over rising unemployment in the Nagaland, Advisor Imnatiba today urged the officers of the Department of Industries and Commerce (DoIC) to create avenues and employment opportunities in the private sector.

The Department has been bestowed with the responsibility and the officers of the department must be innovative in their approach to their duty and act as facilitators and consultants for the young and upcoming entrepreneurs, added Imnatiba, who is also Advisor, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland. 

He was addressing the two-day annual conference-cum-workshop on schemes and programmes of the DoIC, which began at its Directorate on April 19. 

As per a DIPR report, Imnatiba further noted that sole purpose of the conference was for the officers to come forward and share their thoughts and express their grievances, besides deliberating on ways and means to overcome these issues.

This would ensure smooth functioning of the department functions smoothly and thereby serving the public in all its capacity, he added.  

The Advisor, the report added, also initiated a discussion with all the participants related to the implementation of the various schemes and programmes in all the districts and subdivisions.

Kekhrievor Kevichusa, Commissioner and Secretary also spoke at the event and encouraged the officers to actively participate in the workshop and have healthy discussions towards finding ways and means on how to best implement the flagship programmes as well as the centrally sponsored schemes.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Temjen Jamir, Additional Director while Director, Vitsutho Nyuthe gave the welcome address.

The two-day annual conference cum workshop will be feature by presentations by the General Managers of the District Industries Centres on the first day and presentations on various schemes and programmes of the department by the programme officers on the second day, the report added.
