
Charis High Academy conduct workshop for teachers
Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): Charis High Academy (CBSE), Chumukedima conducted a workshop for teachers on ‘creative teaching for transformation’ from January 19 to 21. The resource persons were Dr. Ajit A. Prasadam, PhD, Princeton University (New Jersey), General Secretary, India Sunday School Union and Director, St. Andrew Centre for HRD and counselling, Coonor, Tamil Nadu and Sheela Ebenezer, Coonor, India Sunday School Union.
The teachers were introduced to a new level of creative teaching in different subjects and techniques like expressive lesson plans and ways of teaching.
The follow up programme was held on February 24 by Dr. Ajit A. Prasadam. He stressed that we should not just attend the mind but the spirit of the student as well. The trainers used innovative metaphors and activities to elaborate on the various educational structures and teaching methodologies.
“Teachers should cultivate the art of “disciplined imagination” in order to draw out the best. The teacher should make the mind and spirit of the student go in sync to understand the core values and ethics of human life. Students, then become the signature and reflection of a teacher and the school,” the teachers were told.
