Criss Angel Returns To The Stage After Stunt Goes Wrong

His Mindfreak Live! show at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas came to an abrupt halt on Friday when he lost consciousness while performing an upside-down double-straitjacket escape. The 49-year-old was taken to Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center and discharged early on Saturday (11Mar17). His representative confirmed to People.com Criss lost consciousness live on stage, adding, "He was lowered to the stage and rushed to the hospital where he was evaluated and released early this morning (Saturday)."   "He is undergoing additional testing today (Saturday) and while it is not yet certain, it is his hope to return to the stage in his hit show tonight. He is grateful for the outpouring of love and concern from his fans around the world," he added. His rep later confirmed to Entertainment Tonight Criss would be back on stage performing his show on Saturday, and the illusionist successfully attempted the stunt again.   Angel's return won him rave reviews from audience members. One tweeted: "@CrissAngel played sold out show tonight & 10 minutes in, proves he is a bad mofo. Awesome return Criss!" The stunt, which involves Angel having to escape from a straitjacket in less than 30 seconds, while dangling by his feet high above the ground, is one of the highlights of his show.
