CRP Round in Merangkong and Wameken underway

Tuli, July 28 (MExN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission, under the Department of Rural Development has been conducting Community Resource Person Round (CRP Round) in nine ‘Intensive Block’ at nine districts of Nagaland.  

The Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), RD Block Tuli, Mokokchung has been conducting first phase of CRP Round in two villages- Merangkong and Wameken, which falls under RD Block Tuli Mokokchung.  

The staffs along with the Community Resource Persons from Resource Block (RD Block, Changtongya) are engaged in the said villages for identification of existing SHG, sensitization and mobilization of the community resulting in formation of new SHG among the womenfolk of the village.  

Mission Director, Athel Lotha (Additional Secretary) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Roland Lotha visited Wameken village on July 25 where the CRP Round is happening since July 9.  

During the meeting with the stakeholders and SHG members, Mission Director, stressed on the cooperation of the community for successful implementation of the programme. COO Roland shared on the vision, objectives and program of NSRLM. He also informed that NSRLM is the only Government program for SHG in the country and the facilities to be provided to the deserving SHGs. The meeting was chaired by Moatoshi, Block Program Manager, BMMU, RD Block, Tuli, Introductory session was led by Sentinaro, SPM-FI (District in-charge) and welcome speech was delivered by Council Chairman, Wameken.  

Especial song was presented by Molongtet SHG of Wameken village and Imolila shared her success story after joining SHG at Akhoya village. There will be nine CRP Round in each Intensive Block covering the villages that falls under intensive block from July 2016 till March 2017 where the formation of new SHG, bringing existing SHG into NSRLM fold, Bank account opening for the SHG and nurturing of those SHG will be continued.
