DIMAPUR, MARCH 5 (MExN): The NPF party of 6-Tening A/C and NPF Peren division has expressed resentment and dissatisfaction over the issue of the overturned result, where the Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the cancellation of the “declaration of wrong result issued in favour” of NPF candidate in 6-Tening A/C.
A joint press release issued by the two NPF divisions claimed that the election certificate was issued to the NPF candidate Namduadi Rangkau Zeliang after observing and approving every formalities and norms- in the presence of all political parties and their agents.
However, expressing surprise that a mere complaint by one political party on anomalies in the counting was immediately entertained and case forwarded to ECI for rectification without consulting the other political parties and their agents, the press release alleged that this indicated the Returning Officer having a “soft corner for a particular party.”
The NPF also questioned the integrity of the ECI for its action on the issue without proper consultation with other political parties and taking keen interest on the issues of rectification without proper verification.
Alleging the issue as a deep rooted political conspiracy, it has sought immediate intervention by competent authority (s) or court of law. Also stating that recounting is no more a question, the NPF party has urged the ECI for reconsideration of the earlier declared result or call for a fresh poll for justice and satisfaction of all.
