TUENSANG, JUNE 17 (MExN): The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students' Conference) has raised concerns over prolonged staff absenteeism following an inspection of the Office of the Medical Superintendent, Tuensang, conducted on June 5.
According to the Conference, several staff members were found to be consistently irregular in discharging their duties. “The prolonged absence of these officials has not only disrupted administrative operations but also severely impacted the delivery of essential public services,” the Conference stated.
In view of the findings, the Conference has directed the absentee staffs to report to their respective postings on or before June 21. Failing to comply within the stipulated timeframe will attract disciplinary action, it added.
Reaffirming its commitment to public welfare and institutional accountability, the Conference emphasized that public service must be carried out with integrity, dedication, and responsibility.
To prevent further lapses, the Chang Wedoshi Setshang announced that it will carry out surprise inspections of government establishments from time to time in accordance with Resolution No. 26 of the Conference. These inspections will focus on staff attendance, service delivery, and overall performance.
“This step is being taken in the larger interest of public welfare, transparency, and accountability in governance,” the statement said.
