Tening, June 13 (MExN): Irked by the lack of proper internet and communications network in Tening subdivision, the Tening Town Youth Organisation and Tening Town Women Welfare Organisation have asked the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide consistent service.
In a joint press release, the two organisations stated that the State Bank of India, Tening Branch which caters to around 28 villages under the subdivision, “is solely dependent on BSNL service for internet connectivity and banking purposes.”
Several customers from far-flung villages face enormous hardship as internet connectivity fluctuates every now and then, and in the event of power supply disruption, “BSNL network gets completely cut off, indicating that there is no power backup in the facility.”
The release further pointed out that various organisations and civil society organisations have been appealing to the BSNL authority to ensure consistent network service by providing adequate power backup in the larger interest of the people residing in Tening area.
It further appealed to the SBI authority to utilise other alternative network service providers to provide seamless banking services “instead of unreliable BSNL network.”
