Chakpa Senso Telongjem Mokokchung Town (CSTM) conducted its 62nd Annual General Conference on November 22 at Penli Ward Community Hall, Mokokchung, under the theme “Telongjem Nung Terenlok.”
Speaking on the theme, independent research scholar Dr Moakumka Longkumer described the 62-year journey of the union as an act of divine grace. Longkumar explained that the theme, which may be interpreted as “enlargement through unity” or “growth through unity,” reflects two distinct yet complementary elements essential for both individual and societal progress. Citing the ongoing regional tensions in Manipur as an example, she emphasised that conflict often stems from the absence of unity, urging the community to strengthen ties through relationship-building.
In his message of encouragement, N Wati Jamir observed that while people from the village possess a strong command of language, such talent must be paired with knowledge to unlock greater opportunities for advancement.
Delivering his address, I Nukshi Aola called upon elders to demonstrate responsible leadership and set positive examples for younger generations. Aola also encouraged collective effort toward ensuring the grand success of the village church’s Quasquicentennial celebration scheduled for 2026.
Earlier, CSTM President T Ngakoba delivered the welcome address, while Vice President Lanuakum Jamir proposed the vote of thanks.
