CSU organizes literary cum cultural competition

PFUTSERO, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) today organized a Literary cum Cultural Competition under the theme "Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace" at Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero.

Addressing the introductory session as the guest of honour, Vezühü Keyho, president, Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), lauded the CSU for organizing such a meaningful event. He also highlighted the significance of cultural heritage in showcasing identity and underscored the importance of knowing one's own dialect as fundamental for personal growth.

Keyho encouraged the student community to inculcate a spirit of integrity.

He also emphasized the need for students to cultivate a strong work culture and prioritize God for a successful life. CSU president Pfulo Sara expressed gratitude to all the participating units for their prompt turnout and support.

He emphasized that the event was not just a competition but a celebration of joy and passion, aimed at preserving the vibrant and unique culture of the Chakhesang community.

The event provided a platform to showcase the artistic, cultural, and creative talents of the Chakhesang people.

He also highlighted the recently concluded educational tour to 130 government institutions within the Union's jurisdiction and announced plans to visit all private schools in the coming year.

The CSU remains committed to fostering education and cultural heritage, reinforcing the values of unity, mutual understanding, and peace within the community, Sara added.

The event also witnessed the presence of Medovi Rhi, president, Naga Students' Federation (NSF), P. Lohe, Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) Pfutsero, Zhonelu Tunyi, president, Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) along with a host of CSU seniors and dignitaries.

The event was chaired by Mutsivoyi Kotso, Tribunal General of CSU and compered by Kevengo-u Ngotha, Miss Phek 2023 and Luthono Resuh, 2nd Runner-Up Miss Phek 2022.

Teweu Mero, Education Secretary of CBCC invoked God’s blessings.

A cultural presentation was performed by Lower Khomi Students' Union.

The programme was marked by various competitions, including debate, war cry, quiz, drawing and photography.
